| | Model of the car: | Mazda MPV 4wd | | | General comments: | HI. My father bought the MPV for my mom ten years ago... now, with 120,000 in it, it's mine and I love it!!! I'm in college and it is certainly a better roadtrip car than my old Chevy Cavalier (rest in peace). It's the pefect beach vehicle and it handles very well even in 2wd.
But, I'm really worried. This van has a terrible tranny (I wish it was manual). The dealer replace it once (they said that, I dont think so)and then my dad has to pay 1,000 to rebuild it. A year ago (96,000 aprox.) it went down again but the mecanic repalce it with a Pathfinder's automatic. So, now I'm holding the bill and if it broke again...... It's there anything that I can do to prevent this early faliures of the tranny. I've heard that it's caused by overheating, it's that true??? | | | What things have gone wrong with the car: | Bad tranny, needs more power or a manual tranny. Smalish cargo area with the 3rd seat up. | | | Previous car: | Caravan (very unreliable) 4runner(bad driving position; its my mom's) 84'Cavalier(engine died after 16 years; I'm gonna miss him!!!) |
